See the nearby small town of Maunaloa, or drive to the tropical end of the island to the forested Halawa Valley with its secluded beach and cascading Moaula Falls. Along the way watch for interesting and photogenic churches, the large coconut grove, the town of Kaunakakai with a main street only three commercial blocks long, royal fish ponds, lush taro fields, and of course, the ever changing shoreline. Another time, drive to the breath taking Kaluapapa look out or perhaps even ride a mule down the winding path to Kaluapapa, Father Damien historic colony.
